Journeys through the Landscape : Ravilious Exhibition Resource with Towner Gallery

I worked with Yanaëlle Ritter and the Towner Learning Team to create a pamphlet resource of prompts and activities to help families and primary-aged children engage with Towner’s Ravilious Collection Exhibition, which opened in September 2025.

We invited children and families to explore the collection of landscape and sussex inspired works as though journeying through and exploring the landscapes and places themselves. The recource encourages reflection on sense of place and it’s changes over time, our relationship with nature , and the stories and lives the landscape holds.

Activities ranged from drawing, to writing, to creatuve movement, to using sensory imaginative skills, reflecting and discussing experiences and thoughts with others.

We tested out the resource actvities in a workshop format with a local Primary School, incorperating natural, found-object sculptures as a make-your-own-creature activity in addition to a drawing option to be able to more directly engage with objects from the local landscape in a tactile way.
