Body as Myth

This project is workshop-based, engaging participants to reflect on our relationship to our bodies through the stories we tell about them and the meanings we associate with them; connecting to questions of identity, trans experience, queerness, and relationship to natural and spiritual worlds; the body as a vessel of change.

The first installation of this project was a combined printmaking, collage, and writing workshop co-facilitated with Mithago Craze at Camp Trans 2025. The session culminated in a collective collage of prints, and words around the themes. We also took the workshop to another group of trans people, hosted at the queery in Brighton in January 2026.

This drew the connection between mythologies of physical transformation and trans experience; stories often associating transformations with othering, punishment, and rebelling against dominant powers within the context of the stories. Then also with divinity, transcendence, and a greater connection to other beings, and the act of creation and rebirth.
