The body of the puppet was sculpted already connected to a trail of objects carried with them/created by them, the story it’s body wanted to tell emerged over repetition in moving from one point to another, toward the light
Body Kite culminated in a video of a performance on Rottingdean beach set to unpracticed accordion sound. The shape is traced from my own body on a discarded bedsheet. Bringing it to the beach to fly came from a longing of my own body, to ripple in the wind, be moved by my surroundings, becoming more a part of them, surrendering to them. I awkwardly and tenderly struggled between my floating body and the wind, raising up to the sky and the ocean this vulnerable extension of myself in want of connection to something vaster and greater.
